For as long as I can remember I have always loved photography. Even as a little kid, I would never go on a class trip or to a special occasion with just a disposable camera… I needed to take my mom’s camera…. and several rolls of film. I believe that the preservation of life’s memories is the greatest treasure a person can have.
I am a true romantic at heart. I connect very deeply with couples who are madly in love and enjoy the simplicity of just being together. I love when they pay attention to the finer details of the day that really speak to their individuality and provide a beautiful canvas to their story. My own wedding in 2014 was the most amazing day of my life and I was so blessed to be able to spend it with so many loved ones and have images that I will cherish forever. That is exactly what I want to give my couples.
I would describe my style as classic, simple and romantic. I want to preserve your memories in a clean, timeless style. I love focusing on the small, pretty details of your wedding day as well as natural intimate moments and candid images of the people you’ve chosen to spend the most important day of your lives with. Rather than posing or staging moments, I prefer to coach a couple through natural feeling portraits who really speak to who they are as a couple, while still having them look their best and feeling confident. Finding beautiful light and striving to bring out the charm and uniqueness in every event is always my goal. Having a relationship with my couples is also a very important part to me. Most of them become very close friends and I feel like this bond is one of the most important to have during your wedding. It’s what helps create an effortless shooting connection and a deep love for your images. One of my most favorite parts of a wedding day is when a couple chooses to do a “First Look”. The raw emotion, joy and excitement of seeing each other privately is just so inspiring to me and helps to create such a relaxed environment for the remainder of the day.
When I don’t have a camera in my hand, I enjoy spending time with the love of my life, my husband, Michael and our kitties. We enjoy camping on the Cape in the summers, vineyards and going on road trips. I love driving with my windows down with my music turned up. I know the words to every song… on every station… and I sing them all (No really it’s true, our DJ’s are often amazed at my diversity!) Family is everything to me. My wonderful parents have been married for over 35 years and their love always inspires me.
I have over 13 years of photography experience, I am a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and a certified Nikon Pro Photographer. I love what I do and look forward to working with you.
“I can’t find the words to tell anyone reading this how amazing Heather is. Yes, she was my photographer, but she was so much more. She was a buffer to others when I needed a breather, she was a dress fixer and a hair monitor. She just clicked with me and my husband and was somehow there for us in ways that go above and beyond being a photographer. She pushed us to get the perfect shot knowing from our engagement shoot that we weren’t the best subjects and didn’t sit still or pose probably the best. She’s sent us sneak peaks of some of the pictures and they are everything I could have hoped for. They are timeless. Yes, she took amazing pictures, but she was also a friend for us that day and I was truly sad when she had to leave at the end of the night.”

“Heather is absolutely amazing! She wasn’t just a fantastic photographer but became a friend as well. Throughout everything she was incredibly professional, attentive, and made us feel very comfortable. Heather listened to exactly what we wanted and we are incredibly happy with ALL of our beautiful photos. It was a pleasure to have her photograph our wedding. We had so much fun working with her and I can’t wait to find another reason to work with her again in the future. I really recommend doing an engagement session with her. This gave us an opportunity to get to know her/her to get to know us, get comfortable being photographed/posing… and it was fun! We LOVE Powerstation!”

“On the day of the wedding, Heather was truly amazing. She arrived early and ready to go. She was efficient and professional throughout the entire day. We had asked her for some family pictures involving a large number of individuals… Heather did a wonderful job of setting up the photos and getting all of them done. Heather also found a gorgeous location for our wedding pictures. It was beautiful location, and really fit who we were as a couple. Following the wedding, Heather got some teaser pictures on Facebook within days of our ceremony. Being able to see some of the pictures so quickly was really nice. I think we were most impressed with Heather, however, after she played seamstress at our ceremony. One of the bridesmaids split her dress during the reception. Heather stepped right in and stitched the dress back together. We were so grateful for the way she saved the day with that dress. We would strongly recommend Heather and Powerstation.”
