Frequently Asked Questions

  • Should I wash my hair before my trial and/or day of my wedding?

    There are 3 parts to this answer (all apply to both trial and wedding day).


    1. If you have normal to dry hair, wash & blow-dry the night before. Do NOT style or add any product to your hair.
    2. If you have normal, fine, or oily hair, wash and blow-dry the morning of. Do NOT style or add any product to your hair.
    3. If you have normal to thick hair, come with “day two” hair (wash your hair the morning before). Do NOT style or add any product to your hair.

  • I have naturally curly hair, what should I do with it before my trial?

    If you want to keep the integrity of your natural kink, wash and let it air-dry before your appointment (without adding any product to your hair).

    If you’re going for a smooth, sleeker look, wash and blow out / straighten your hair without adding any product to your hair.

  • Should I choose Traditional or Airbrush makeup?

    There are many techniques when applying makeup. We recommend airbrush. It’s lightweight yet extremely durable, long-lasting and fit for the elements. It’s great for all skin types but if you have acne scarring or textured skin, we recommend something with a little more full coverage.

  • Tips & Gratuity … What should I do?

    Tips & gratuities are always appreciated. The industry standard is between 15 to 25 percent. Feel free to tip just as you would in a hair salon for any other stylist(s) or artist(s).

  • Can you come to where I’m getting ready? Is there a travel fee?

    All of our services can be done at any location of your choice! There is a $40 booking fee per artist as well as a $0.75-per-mile travel fee.

  • Collect pictures from Pinterest to show us so we can get an idea of the look you’re going for!


  • Don’t be afraid to speak up! We want to know if you need more or less coverage, do you want your eyes darker or lighter…. are you dying to try a bold lip?


  • If you have your hair colored, permed, or treated, have it done at least one month before your wedding date. The extra time will soften your style a bit, so it looks more natural. Also, should disaster strike, you’ll have time to fix it.


  • Bring your headpiece or veil to make sure it works with your day-of do! It’s important to consider the headpiece from the beginning so you can make sure it will fit properly and stay put.


  • Consider your makeup trial to be on the same day as your engagement session with your photographer. This way you can see how it photographs professionally and how it holds up on your skin.


  • After your trial, check to see how your hear and makeup wear! A great way to do this is by taking selfies throughout the day – indoor and outdoor – as this will also help give you an idea of how your look will photograph!
